The Munich-based LiDAR company Blickfeld has been awarded the German Innovation Award in the startup category. The jury rated the level of innovation and market opportunities of the new technology as major plus points.
If we had to summarize CES 2019 into one word it would be “autonomous”. Once again, this year’s major focus was on self-driving technology. The North Hall of CES was like a car show in itself, with manufacturers, suppliers and aftermarket electronics companies presenting their latest technologies. All variations could be found: be it driverless concept cars, robo-shuttles, self-driving trucks, ‘pods’ where you can interchange loads and of course, flying taxis. Passengers could even hail an autonomous car ride through the Lyft app throughout CES.
The Munich-based LiDAR start-up Blickfeld has increased its seed funding to $ 10 million. All existing investors Fluxunit – OSRAM Ventures, High-Tech Gründerfonds, Tengelmann Ventures, and Unternehmertum Venture Capital Partners participated in the round. The new financial resources will be used for the first series production and to further strengthen the team.
The EIT Digital Challenge aims to identify the best digital deep tech innovations – complex disruptive solutions that are built around unique and differentiated scientific or technological advances and fuel the digital transformation. The 25 finalists come from 11 different European countries and were selected out of 200 applications.
The finalists will compete in the EIT Digital Challenge 2018 for international growth support worth €750,000 in total. The winners will be awarded at the final pitch event in Brussels in October.
“You made it. You fought. You convinced. You deserve it.” Those words are written on the DAHO.AM start-up challenge’s winner certificate. And we are beyond proud to have them hanging in our office.
At the 3rd BMVI Startup Pitch on July 5, 2018, Federal Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer honored innovative business ideas for mobility 4.0. Previously, Blickfeld and the other 19 finalists had the opportunity to present their ideas and business models to a top-class jury at the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure.
In the run-up to the conference, 15 international start-ups with the most promising solutions in the field of autonomous transport and logistics were selected by a top-class jury. On the day of the event, they presented their products and services to the expert audience in 3-minute pitches on stage and in the innovation exhibition. The audience award also went to Blickfeld. A total of 56 startups from Europe, Israel and the USA applied for participation in the Innovation Forum and the award.
The day started with talks on autonomous driving and connected mobility along with many companies exhibiting their products for mobility, smart cities and intelligent infrastructure such as BVG and Metrilus.
Munich. A so far missing piece of autonomous vehicles are cost-efficient laser-based 3D sensors, also known as LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging). The Munich-based startup company Blickfeld develops such sensor systems and was now able to raise $4.25 million in a seed financing round from Fluxunit – OSRAM Ventures, High-Tech Gründerfonds, Tengelmann Ventures, und Unternehmertum Venture Capital Partners.
We are happy to announce that we are the winner of the CarIT Startup Factory contest.
