QbVolume automatically measures stockpile and fill levels to deliver accurate volume data—no manual checks, no external computing required. It provides continuous insights for materials stored in bunkers, silos, on pallets, or in open yards, helping you monitor inventory remotely and reliably. Built to last, QbVolume operates in harsh outdoor and indoor environments, with no need for maintenance thanks to its robust, weatherproof housing.

All-in-one solution
Featuring robust hardware with on-device software and an intuitive dashboard for data visualization, QbVolume provides a comprehensive product offering within a single sensor. In addition, Blickfeld offers a range of matching accessories, such as mountings, a weather protection roof, and cabling.
Intuitive software, specifically designed for volume measurement
Blickfeld QbVolume’s software processes raw 3D LiDAR data to calculate volume using virtual zones. Advanced algorithms achieve highly accurate measurements by incorporating the specification of stockpile angles and storage conditions (e.g. in cone- or box-shaped zones). With the fusion of multiple QbVolume LiDAR sensors, large storage areas can be covered.
Reliable detection in challenging conditions
Blickfeld’s LiDAR sensors deliver consistent performance in harsh weather, such as rain, snow, and fog, as well as in dusty environments. They remain unaffected by lighting conditions, including strong sunlight or darkness. With an IP67-rated housing, QbVolume is suitable for operation in both indoor and outdoor applications.
Easy installation without maintenance efforts
Thanks to its solid-state design and no rotating parts, QbVolume is durable and, apart from cleaning, requires no maintenance. On-device data processing and Power-over-Ethernet simplifies installation, while optional use of the WiFi connectivity feature even eliminates the need for extra network cabling.

Purpose-Built for Volume Monitoring
Specialized software developed to accurately monitor volumes using 3D LiDAR data

Combine data from multiple LiDAR sensors for full coverage and enhanced accuracy across large or complex areas.

View the 3D LiDAR point cloud in the integrated viewer and access processed volume data in a dedicated on-device dashboard for both detailed inspection and instant decision-making.

Adapt to complex storage geometries: Accurately measure irregularly shaped stockpiles by factoring in slopes, angles, and container boundaries.

Define specific measurement zones and subtract known baseline volumes (e.g., container capacity) using the integrated tare feature for operational flexibility.

Frequently Asked Questions
LiDAR stands for Light Detection and Ranging. It is a technology that uses laser light pulses for contactless distance measurement. More information is available on our blog: https://www.blickfeld.com/blog/what-is-lidar-sensor/
Blickfeld LiDAR sensors use the time-of-flight method to measure the distance to objects. The sensor calculates the distance by measuring the time between emission of a laser pulse and the detection of the light that bounces off the object. The sensors scan in three dimensions using Blickfeld’s proprietary MEMS scanner technology. More information is available on our blog: https://www.blickfeld.com/blog/mems-technology-for-lidar/
You need an end device with a recent internet browser to configure the sensor and view data output. The QbVolume requires power supply equipment that supports Power over Ethernet (PoE). Blickfeld also offers a range of optional accessories for mounting and cabling the devices.
