QbBasic

Compact, software-defined 3D LiDAR for tailored flexibility and seamless integration

Blickfeld QbBasic is a software-defined 3D LiDAR sensor built for seamless integration into OEM platforms, ideal for applications like crowd analytics, smart infrastructure, and spatial monitoring. It delivers high-resolution point cloud data that enables precise detection of people movement and spatial dynamics in real time.

A user-friendly web interface allows for easy configuration of scan lines, frame rates, and output formats, empowering integrators to adapt the sensor to specific analytical needs and system architectures.

Compact, robust (IP67-rated), and designed with standardized interfaces, QbBasic performs reliably even in complex or outdoor environments. From prototype to scalable deployment, it supports rapid development of solutions that require accurate, real-time 3D data.

High-resolution 3D LiDAR data

With support for up to 400 scan lines per frame and the processing of multiple returns, QbBasic generates detailed point clouds for accurate and reliable 3D information. Additionally, multi-sensor fusion allows point clouds from multiple sensors to be combined, creating a comprehensive 3D model of the environment.

Tailored device configuration for various use cases

Blickfeld’s intuitive web-based interface allows users to configure their device settings and data output with ease. For instance, users can adjust the frame rate and number of scan lines to customize the scan pattern to fit their requirements.

Effortless integration for scalable deployment

Thanks to standardized interfaces like MQTT and TCP/IP, as well as an open API, QbBasic integrates seamlessly into existing systems. Power over Ethernet (PoE) reduces the need for additional power sources, further simplifying integration. Combined with flexible configuration and reliable performance, QbBasic enables the rapid development of custom applications for market deployment.

Compact & rugged design for demanding applications

With its compact form factor and low power consumption, QbBasic fits perfectly into space- or energy-constrained setups. Its industrial-grade IP67-rated enclosure protects the sensor from harsh environmental conditions, making it particularly suitable for outdoor applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

You need an end device with a recent internet browser to configure the sensor and view data output. The QbBasic requires power supply equipment that supports Power over Ethernet (PoE).

Blickfeld sensors come with their own Application Programming Interfaces. For QbBasic, Blickfeld offers client libraries supporting the C++ and Python programming languages. However, users can implement clients in further languages using the native sensor APIs. Additionally, Blickfeld provides drivers for the Robot Operating System (ROS). Further information and resources can be found at https://www.blickfeld.com/resources/#developer-tools.

Yes. You can find corresponding ROS(2) drivers on the Blickfeld website at https://www.blickfeld.com/resources/.
