Especially in highly sensitive environments such as data centers, where outages or unauthorized access can lead to significant economic and security-related consequences, a multi-layered security concept is indispensable. While the focus at outer boundaries lies on early detection and deterrence of intruders, inner areas such as server or technical rooms require protection against targeted manipulation and unauthorized access. The closer a potential threat gets to critical core areas, the higher the damage potential and the more precise the monitoring must be. Since different security layers also involve varying environmental conditions, a technology with adaptable detection and alert parameters is crucial to identify risks early while minimizing false alarms.
QbProtect, the Smart 3D Security LiDAR, supports a multi-layered security concept by enabling sensor deployment across various protection levels â from the outer perimeter and open areas to façades and indoor spaces. QbProtect delivers specific advantages at each layer thanks to a software-adjustable detection range, individually configurable security zones, flexible mounting options, and alarm parameters that can be precisely tailored to the environment and requirements of each security level.

1. Layer: Approach Zone
First line of defense outside the perimeter for high-security applications: early detection of approaching objects.
Early warnings
With a range of 65 m and a 90° à 50° field of view, QbProtect detects people and vehicles as soon as they approach the premises.
Reduced false alarms
QbProtect reliably distinguishes real threats from harmless movements and effectively filters out irrelevant objects.
GDPR-compliant
By capturing exclusively anonymous 3D data, LiDAR sensors ensure that no conclusions can be drawn about individuals.
2. Layer: Perimeter Boundary
Protection of the physical property boundary and detection of intruders at the outer barrier.
No blind zone
Thanks to multi-sensor fusion, the entire fence line can be reliably secured over long distances, with high resolution in the critical area around the fence.
Individual security zone types
Using multiple customizable security zones, suspicious behavior can be monitored and an alarm triggered only in case of an actual fence breach.
Seamless integration
QbProtect can be easily installed into existing infrastructure thanks to PoE and flexible mounts, and seamlessly transmits events to VMS via ONVIF.
3. Layer: Open Area
Protection of the open area between the outer perimeter boundary and the building structure.
Securing the entire site
Virtual security zones can be flexibly defined across the open area and precisely adapted to complex site layouts using polygonal zones.
Real-time object tracking
QbProtect tracks objects across multiple sensor fields of view, determines detections with precise spatial accuracy, and transmits GPS alarms for PTZ camera control.
Alarm verification
QbProtect provides high-resolution 3D data with up to 1,200 scan lines for alarm verification and can additionally transmit visual feedback to a VMS via RTSP stream.
4. Layer: Gates and Access Points
Securing site access points and gates against unauthorized entry.
Climb-over detection
Specific security zones detect climbing over, crawling under, or bypassing barriers and access points, immediately triggering an alarm in case of unauthorized movement.
Directional detection
QbProtect analyzes movements and their direction, reliably distinguishing between authorized access and unauthorized entry or passage, such as wrong way driving.
Smart zone setup
Different zone settings for day and night allow smooth operation during working hours and automated protection outside operating hours, all without manual intervention.
5. Layer: Building Facade
Preventing intrusion attempts through the building facade, the final physical barrier.
Comprehensive facade monitoring
QbProtect can be flexibly mounted on walls or roofs and precisely aligned thanks to its high-resolution 3D point cloud. The scan pattern is configured to ensure accurate monitoring of the area directly in front of the façade.
Advanced alarm filtering
Irrelevant objects are ignored, while advanced alarm parameters such as dwell time, track length, and movement patterns enable highly reliable threat assessment.
Tamper detection
QbProtect autonomously detects position changes, coverings, or vibrations and automatically transmits status information and alerts.

6. Layer: Indoor Spaces
Protection of sensitive zones, rooms, or corridors against unauthorized access.
LiDAR sensors operate discreetly, capturing only anonymous object information without any personal data, ensuring fully GDPR-compliant monitoring while allowing authorized individuals to move freely. With its compact and silent design, QbProtect integrates seamlessly into any environment, making indoor security present but unobtrusive.
7. Layer: Object Protection
Targeted protection of individual objects against theft, vandalism, or sabotage.
With individually defined 3D security zones, the system detects even the smallest movements within the monitored area and reliably identifies any changes in the scene. Alarms are transmitted in real time via ONVIF to VMS or PSIM, enabling immediate security actions such as automatic gate closure or lockdown of a high-security area.
