Your mission

Our LiDAR sensor produces its great 3D data by moving a laser beam over the scene. This is done by reflecting the laser beam using two moving mirrors: one for the vertical and one for the horizontal deflection. It goes without saying that knowing the exact position is crucial for the final precision of the point cloud. Thus, we are running a very complex sensing and control algorithm to control and determine the mirror positions. Your job will be to simplify the currently used algorithms and come up with solutions how to efficiently implement them on a microcontroller!

Your tasks

⟋ You develop ideas on how to simplify and efficiently implement our control algorithms
⟋ You implement your ideas using C
⟋ You prove your approaches on a STM32 microcontroller
⟋ You integrate your code into our environment

Your profile

⟋ You are currently studying electrical engineering, computer science, or similar
⟋ You have very good C programming skills
⟋ Your knowledge in control engineering (especially estimators and observers) is a plus
⟋ Your experience with STM32 / Arm Cortex microcontrollers is a plus
⟋ You are able to develop ideas and solutions independently
⟋ You have very good communication skills in English
